"Bret You Got It Goin' On" Part II

Yesterday in chapel our campus pastor, Rod Reed,spoke. He said one thing that really made sense to me, i mean. it wasn't the only thing. But it was the one thing that i really thought about hard after leaving.

he said that

most people have the wizard of oz Christianity.
either they are the scarecrow, who doesn't have a brain,
or the tin man, who doesn't have a heart.

He said that we need to be in between the two. We should have knowledge of the past of Christianity and how it began and know about the Bible and all that good stuff, but at the same time, we have to have a relationship with God as well. We have to view Him as our Father and as someone who loves us unconditionally, not just as someone who has authority over us.

I feel like sometimes i have too much of one side then not enough of the other,then sometimes its the other way around. I dont know. I am still learning and growing.
